Homework Tips So, how are you doing so far with the homework time? Let's add a few tips to the end of our list to enhance what you are already doing. Remember, if you and/or your child are having difficulty with the homework process, please ask your child's teacher or give us a call in the special education department. We will be very glad to give you suggestions.
Have a consistent time and place for your child to study. ·Be available without taking over.
·Stay calm.
·Let your child make choices and set goals by herself/himself.
·Keep the communication channels open, including parent-child and parent-school.
* Ask your child's teacher for any routine homework assignments. *Check SchoolFusion under the teacher's name for review of any important assignments. *Attend Back to School Night to learn about the homwork routines and expectation of the classroom teacher. *Attend the conference that has been set up for you with your child's teacher. This is a good time to investigate all of the routines of the classroom and to find out how your child has acclamated to this year's routines and classwork. If you have more questions than time permits, please sign up for another time to continue your dialogue with the teacher about your child's progress. |
